Volunteers wanted to help disadvantaged children at Metro Police Dept. holiday party

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District, its Citizens Advisory Council and the Ward Eight community are hosting its 41st Annual Holiday Party for disadvantaged children.

The event will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Panorama Room, 1600 Morris Road SE in Washington, D.C.

The event’s goal is to provide practical winter accessories, educational toys, books and games for over 400 elementary school-aged children.

JBAB’s Operations department law enforcement personnel (Security Services) is supporting the event. 35-40 volunteers (military and civilian staff) are needed to assist us with shoe distribution to 400 plus children, as well as assist with serving lunch and hand out toys and other gifts.

During the party, numerous opportunities will be available to enjoy the musical and non-musical entertainment planned, including special appearances by Santa, his reindeers, Frosty, dancers, drummers and singers.
